☁️ Unsponsored

The Sky Society Weekly Newsletter

Hey Marketing Girlies! Would you have ever thought that the biggest campaign in the Olympic trials would have no brand logo?

Bandit Running’s, The Unsponsored Project provides support dollars & unbranded gear to athletes, highlighting challenges in the current sponsorship model and empowering self-representation.

Bandit is tired of seeing box brands only show up for Athletes after they win the gold medal despite the free advertising leading up to it. Their response: sponsoring 35 athletes to wear all-black attire and no logo at the Olympic Trials.

A reminder that the loudest campaigns aren’t always the flashiest.

THE FUTURE IS NOT SOMETHING I WAIT FOR,
IT’S SOMETHING I CREATE.

ANGEL ADVICE
Our Quarter-life Crisis: Swapping Excel for Canva

Two Sky Society girlies Arely and Nicole want to tell you their stories about pivoting careers in your mid-twenties.

Arely

If you told me 7 years ago that I would switch careers from Accounting and Finance to Marketing, I wouldn't have believed you.

I was a fresh grad ready to take on the corporate world in Finance and Accounting. Over the years, I realized I wasn't fulfilled by my work. It wasn't the career for me.

Cue the quarter-life crisis.

I brainstormed potential industries and determined to find something that made me happy. Being social media savvy and loving creativity, I decided to pivot to Digital Marketing!

Is starting over scary? Yes! But not impossible.

I'm embracing this season of change. We're constantly growing and changing. Change helps us evolve into who we're meant to be.

My advice to those contemplating their careers is to listen to your intuition and take action. Life's too short to be unhappy. Make the change, be fearless, and never be afraid to start over. Better late than never!

Nicole

When I left college and dove into the real world, my main motivation was money. I thought any job that paid well would be fine, but I didn't realize how draining it would be to spend 40+ hours a week doing something repetitive, staring at a computer screen non-stop. It burned me out fast.

So, what now? Should I go back to school? Switch degrees? Maybe even go to grad school?

Thank goodness for TikTok.

I started seeing videos of women offering courses in social media management, talking about how it's okay to change careers and learn from those who are actually doing it, rather than sticking to the traditional school route.

Still, I felt lost with so many conflicting opinions about what I should do next in my career. But one thing kept coming up that gave me confidence: the community of women I found myself surrounded by.

Lean on your girls! Together, we can achieve any dream and figure out our paths with confidence!
