ADVICE FROM THE MARKETING GIRLIES

Each week, Sky Society Accelerator students attend mentor workshops hosted by our Marketing Girly Mentors. Here’s this week’s highlights:

Lin Yang - Moscot, Senior Manager, Global Brand Marketing
In Lin Yang’s workshop, Fashion Brand Campaign Lab, she emphasized that building your network is one of your most valuable assets. She highlighted the importance of intentionally making connections and cultivating meaningful relationships within the industry. Stay involved in workshops, events, and new opportunities where valuable relationships can grow.

She encouraged staying open-minded throughout your career journey. When applying for jobs, don’t be afraid to reach out directly to the hiring manager, take the initiative to introduce yourself, and express your interest in the role. Tailor your message to highlight your qualifications and personality.

Your first job may not be your dream role, but every position can offer opportunities to learn, grow, and build experience that can guide you to achieve your long-term goals.
