In Lin’s workshop “Fashion Brand Campaign Lab” she explored the importance of building a standout campaign. She stressed the importance of saying yes to new opportunities, events, and networking because “you never know what doors it may open for you.” Lin also shared that from her experience, it is better to go beyond LinkedIn, contacting hiring managers via email can make you standout, especially if your tone reflects that of the brand. Her final advice is to reflect on yourself, not to be afraid to stand out and rely on your community!

✨ Karis Felton - New York Jets, Marketing Manager
In Karis’s workshop “Slay Your Marketing Job Interview”, she used her pageant and marketing expertise to explain how you anyone can be the main character of their next interview. Interviews are daunting, but she advised us that you can stand out by preparing for the interview, having unique answers, and letting your personality shine through. We then had time to workshop our elevator pitches and answer the dreaded “tell me about yourself” question. Karis advised that the best answers are non-traditional and leverage the power of story telling to make your response more memorable and authentic. One last tip, if you’re looking to impress someone like Karis, passion and a willingness to learn are qualities that stand out to her. Good luck on slaying your next interview!
