What were the most important materials that helped you land your internship in fashion?

Networking is the most important material in getting into [fashion]. I decided to look up the top fashion stylists in LA. I noticed one thing in common from all of them. They were all under the same management - The Only Agency. Agencies show you all the stylists in your area and their socials. I emailed every celebrity stylist listed underneath the agency. All it took was that one person to see my potential. What also helped greatly was having a portfolio. If you don’t have any clients, do digital styling to make up your portfolio.

What advice would you give marketers aspiring to land their first role in the fashion world?

My advice is to start emailing your dream brands and agencies you want to work for. Get on Linkedin and start connecting with people who are already in jobs you want and other students. Also, start building an online presence for yourself. When job searching, apply to everything, even jobs you feel like you don’t qualify for. Also, LinkedIn isn’t the only place you should be applying through. Some of my favorites are Fashionista, LVMH, and Business of Fashion.
